Phil Wipper
Drums

Phil discovered drumming is his early teens and has been working professionally as a drummer for over twenty years. A fixture on the island music scene, Phil has played with Wunderbread, Rubber Soul, Character Traits and David Gogo, as well as Beverly Mahood, Mae Moore, Amos Garrett and the Doug Cox/Sam Hurrie band, and many other talented players. Known for his creativity and steady tempos, Phil is in continual demand as one of the island's more popular drummers.

Phil aims to give his students good technical knowledge of the drums as well as an understanding of working within a rhythm section/band in a variety of musical settings, be it a high school big band, a blues trio or a garage punk band. Students receive a good grounding in practical playing, in addition to the theory that will help them stand out from the rest.
